About The Swan Shop and the swan goddess

 You are what you attract: jobs, friendships, relationships, and health. Also, financial abundance or ruin, inner peace or chaos and even the strangers and old friends you cross paths with representing our lessons learned or repeated. These are the variants that can be improved. What cannot be controlled, or constants, is your family, how your parents raised you, your genetics, ethnic background, etc. 

As you reflect on your current life situation, variants and constants, can you say to yourself, “ This represents my greatest potential.” In striving to reach my highest potential, I want to share my experience with self-reflection and gratitude, and how it elevates the soul from a basic perspective of life's constants and variables to one of awakened higher consciousness.

I was raised in the South Suburbs of Chicago in a family of six, the youngest of four siblings and rooted in an Afro and Indo Caribbean-cultured religious home. My father is Afro-Caribbean and raised in the Christian religion. My mother, who unfortunately passed away from a long battle of non-Hodgkins’s lymphoma, was Indo-Caribbean and raised in the Hindu religion. 

Both of my parents are from Guyana, South America, a melting pot of cultures. As the youngest, I was the least influenced by the cultural aspect of my upbringing, however I certainly thought it was beautiful. The Caribbean music, food, ceremonies and celebrations all felt heart-warming to me growing up. I did not, however, truly feel a sense connection with this part of my background.

 After years of processing the death of my eldest brother that took place when I was twelve years old, I lost my mother. She passed whilst my early 20s in 2014 followed by the passing of my sister in 2020, two very strong-willed women in my life. I found myself not just grieving their loss for years but angry with the women in my life for leaving me so soon. It was difficult to phathom any positive aspect from their loss.

At the peak of my Divine Journey in 2023, I learned how to create an alter to honor my loved ones who have passed on. Something metamorphic was happening within me as I consistently honored the ones I've lost. I was finally connecting with them and no longer in a state of mourning; I started to feel whole and balanced. Then my Higher Power (aka God, Source, Spirit, or whatever you resonate with as the reader) started to speak to me through lessons I thought I've learned, synchronicities, and vivid dreams to name a few.

I was finally starting to see clearly the misalignment through the people, jobs, and situations in my life. I parted ways from what did not align with my purpose and my mindset whether by my choice or not. It seemed that anytime I would detach from certain people or situations, something would cycle back to test my forward motion.

 I passed these "tests" with flying colors as opposed to the past. Each life lesson learned opened a gateway to the rightful people including my husband, financial opportunities, and situations representing my progressive elevation. This was huge as I have been a single mom of two prior to this evolution settling for people and circumstances that drained my sense of self-worth for almost a decade. I then started to receive dreams so lucid they would feel like memories of my waking life.

I was visited by the Raven in a dream for the first time as a spirit guide sent to teach me lessons of self-love and self-acceptance. I remember waking up in tears recalling the dream  I just had of an enormous, yet tender-hearted Raven embracing me with her massive black wings as we stood together at the top of a skyscraper. 

She revealed to me in a flash how full my life is going to be. The Raven made me feel seen, heard, understood, and for once I felt a sense of belonging; I was finally able to name the fact that these are things I’ve never truly felt in my waking life at the time.

As I evolved in my healing journey, transtioning from darkness to light, I became more comfortable in my skin. I started to receive guidance from now my Swan spirit guide through dreams inviting my attention inward, deeper into who I am shedding light on my true purpose.

 In a series of dreams, it seemed as though I was graced by a Swan, astronomic in size, dressed in jewels and wearing a beautiful golden crown. I soon realized that I was that Swan in my dreams gliding gracefully in crystal blue waters, looking up to the clear skies feeling free.

I coasted the waters with ease embracing the breeze flowing through my silky white feathers. I felt comfortable embodied as this giant being. As I dipped down to the bottom of the water, I faced vulnerability, but by choice. I was shown exactly who I am as my Highest Self, choosing to take on the challenges to attain my best self.

My lineage, including my mother,  sister, and brother, continue to empower me. I honor them daily whether through meditation, cooking Caribbean food, listening to Caribbean music or performing cultural rituals. I grew to understand the purpose in our spiritual connection. Their spirits remain influential in my life today through this spiritual work enriching mine, my family's, and my customers' lives.

There is always shadow work on my part to be done but I’m motivated by what’s to come on the other side of each lesson learned. Every once in while, my Raven spirit guide visits me as a reminder of where I started, how far I’ve come, and to always be in a state of gratitude. In the meanwhile, I’m gliding through this life, knowing who I am and assured that everything I need is within me.
